January inspiration: celebrating the blessings of life and making use of the opportunities it offers

I cannot believe we are almost at the end of the first month of 2017. I hope you also had a great family holiday like I did. I count my blessings when I have my children with me for the Xmas holidays. Since they are young adults, parents become a lower priority and friends, a higher priority.

Plan, Plan, Plan

I started my year the usual way, sitting with my husband planning and creating the goals, wishes and action steps we are willing to take to create and manifest the year we want. Napoleon Hill wrote in his book “Think and Grow Rich” the importance of knowing what you want and taking the actions steps towards your heart’s desires. I call this my “recipe for success.” We have been doing it for the last 10 years and all I can say is, “the proof IS in the pudding.” If you are curious and interested in doing the same for yourself, come let me help you and inspire you to do the same.

Sometimes things go magnificently wrong

With a heart full of excitement and a mind full of plans, I started my day 2 weeks ago. Little did I know what was waiting for me that particular day – 3 armed men held a security guard and myself at gun point and robbed me of some of my material valuables; special gifts given to me over the years by my husband. The moment I realized my life was in danger, every client who experienced crime and who came to see me over the many years I served as a psychologist, was with me. I had flashes and flashes of stories and action steps executed by my clients playing like a movie through my head. I stayed calm, did exactly what I was told to do and stayed subservient. It was over, in what felt like seconds, maybe minutes. They were very professional. I survived it and I am still alive.

Thank you

I want to say a BIG THANK YOU to every one of my clients who came to my mind in those moments. You gave me courage and strength and presence of mind. By the grace of God and the non-virtual presence of hundreds of clients I am alive today. This will not steal my joy. It rather intensified my gratitude for my life, my loved ones, my dreams and goals and my purpose on earth. Facing death ignites a fire for life in you. I wish for everyone out there who ever was the victim of crime that you will find your way out of it and not allow history to make you a victim but rather allow your destiny to make you a master of your circumstances. If you want to get rid of the pain and loss, let me help you.

I am saying YES to opportunities

I have a deep hunger for learning and empowering myself – to be of extraordinary service to others and to myself. Life is offering me great opportunities and I am saying a resounding “YES” to these opportunities. In February I am going to attend a business course at Harvard Business School in Boston, USA. After the course I will be attending an Innovation Conference hosted by YPO in Vancouver, Canada. The reason why I am doing these events as a psychologist is because of you, my clients, and because of myself. I want to offer you the best knowledge from all over the world and I want to raise my awareness and level of service. So many of you coming to see me for mentoring, are successful leaders, entrepreneurs or executives. My wish is to raise my level of empowerment, business-wise, leadership-wise, family-wise as well as financially, for your sake as well as for me.

I will be away, but not out of reach

I will be in Northern America for a month, but that does not mean I am out of reach. I will still be available for mentoring sessions via Skype. Email me if you need me. I am still available for mentoring sessions in South Africa until the 9th of February and again from the 9th of March 2017.

Let’s make this a year of celebrating the blessings of life and making use of the opportunities life offers us. Let us say YES TO LIFE.

With deep gratitude
